Community Rules and Privacy Guidelines

Thank you for being part of the Mindshare community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By using this online community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions and shared files and content to that best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to the leaders of Mindshare via the Contact Us form.

Please take a moment to read these important guidelines. In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to this online community for anyone who violate these rules.

The Rules

  • Don't challenge or attack others. The discussions and comments are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.
  • When replying to a post, please consider whether replying to all is the best idea.
  • If a message's original poster specifically requests that other alumni respond directly to them, e.g., “small 'r' please” - or other words to the effect - please abide by the request.
  • Use caution when discussing products and services. Information posted on the forums and in the libraries is available for all members to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
  • Mindshare Alumni are all professionals and entrepreneurs - and we act accordingly.

Etiquette for Posting a Message

  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows others to respond more appropriately to your post and makes it easier for alumni to search the archives by subject.
  • Include a signature on all posts. Include your name, affiliation, and location.
  • Only send a message to the entire community when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.
  • Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals – not to the entire list. Do this by using the "Reply to Sender" link to the right of every message.
  • Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list”. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a community. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the community and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings in your profile.
